A big marathon on a cold day This marathon was well organized and the route took us pass the historic sites of Quebec. Lots of music along the route and I was surprised to receive a Yellow flower at the finish line

Annulation du Marathon SSQ Assurance de Québec, une invitation santé Brunet, prévu du 2 au 4 octobre 2020

Credit : robertlafond2009 Québec, le mercredi 15 juillet 2020 – L’avenir trop incertain de la situation reliée à la pandémie du coronavirus (COVID-19) pour les prochains mois, ainsi que les risques de santé publique qui s’y rattachent, forcent malheureusement la Corporation Événements Course de Québec et son producteur délégué Gestev à annuler l’édition 2020 du Marathon SSQ Assurance de Québec, une invitation santé Brunet. Cet événement devait avoir lieu du 2 au 4 octobre prochain. Je Cours Qc a à cœur la santé et la sécurité des coureurs et de leurs accompagnateurs, des bénévoles, des employés et du grand public. « On y aura cru jusqu’à la toute fin et nous étions prêts à tenir un événement sécuritaire, explique Marianne Pelchat, productrice déléguée de Je Cours Qc. Il faut comprendre que pour produire un événement d’une telle envergure, on doit se préparer des mois en amont, surtout lorsque l’on souhaite offrir une expérience de qualité supérieure, à la hauteur de notre réputation. Au cours des quatre derniers mois, notre équipe a travaillé très fort pour trouver des solutions, tout en offrant une ambiance positive adaptée à la réalité actuelle. Considérant que l’avenir des événements extérieurs de plus de 250 personnes est encore très incertain, nous avons toutefois dû nous résigner à accepter que d’aller de l’avant dans un tel contexte représentait un risque important à plusieurs niveaux. » C’est donc après des discussions avec la Direction régionale de santé publique de la Capitale-Nationale, la Fédération québécoise d’athlétisme, la Ville de Québec et les principaux partenaires de l’événement, que la difficile décision d’annuler l’événement a finalement été prise. Remboursement de tous les coureurs À noter que tous les coureurs inscrits au Marathon SSQ Assurance de Québec, une invitation santé Brunet seront remboursés. À cet effet, chacun des inscrits recevra un courriel comportant de plus amples informations, ainsi que des détails relativement aux modalités de remboursements. h2. Course virtuelle en vue Quelques détails restent encore à être attachés, mais Je Cours Qc proposera une option de remplacement aux milliers de participants du Marathon SSQ Assurance de Québec, une invitation santé Brunet pour le weekend du 2 au 4 octobre prochain. « Nous voulons poursuivre notre mission de faire bouger les gens jusqu’au bout et ce n’est pas parce que nous sommes forcés d’annuler notre dernier événement de la saison que nous n’accomplirons pas cet objectif, sourit Marianne Pelchat.
