Every year Amberly hosts a 5K race to raise money to support a new local nonprofit organization. This year the race will benefit the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.
The mission of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina is:
No One Goes Hungry in Central & Eastern North Carolina.
The Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger in 34 counties for over 35 years. Sadly, food insecurity remains a serious problem in central and eastern North Carolina. In these counties, more than 630,000 people struggle to access nutritious and adequate amounts of food necessary for a healthy life.

The Amberly Charity 5K is part of Fit & Able’s Free-for-All Race Series.

Race Location: Amberly Subdivisions
Course Information: The course is around the roads and trails of Amberly subdivisions and greenways.
Events: Youth, Juniors, Adults, Novices, and Families are welcome. All participants will have official chip-recorded times with posted results. All Fit & Able Productions, Inc. events are inclusion events: anyone of any age or skill-level can participate in any race course! USATF Rules: No dogs, bikes, or strollers permitted in race!
Awards: Awards will be provided for top male and female overall finishers and top finishers by gender age group.
Online registration closes on September 13th at 9 PM. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted at packet pick-up and race day.
5K Registration Fee: A t-shirt is included if registering before September 2nd.

* Kids (12 & Under) signed up for the 5K race may run the 1 Mile Fun Run for free.

* No t-shirt is included but can be purchased for an additional $5 through September 2nd.
Kids 5 & Under: $5
* Small children must be registered and numbered and with a parent in a regular event.
NOTE: NO REFUNDS, TRANSFERS, or EXCHANGES.
Packet Pick-Up: All participants must show a photo ID in order to pick up their race packets. All participants must pick up their own race packet and sign the Fit & Able and USATF waivers. Minors must be with a guardian to pick up their race packet. Early packet pickup will be announced race week.
Athletic Trainer: First Aid will be located near the Amberly Club House.
Race Souvenirs: All participants who register for the 5K or Kids 5K by September 2nd will receive a t-shirt. Kids 1 Mile participants can purchase a t-shirt for $5 until September 2nd.
The Amberly Charity 5K and all its participants are subject to these event policies.
Fit & Able Productions is a nonprofit organization that has been supporting community and family fitness in Cary since 1997 through organizing creative events and training programs. We also support many programs, such as swim safety lessons for underprivileged children and adults, youth fitness programs, and health education run by our community partners including the Cary Family YMCA, Triangle Aquatic Center, and Town of Cary. Proceeds from our events that aren’t designated to support other organizations go to support the event and other Fit & Able nonprofit activities.
