RACE OF HEARTS 5K/10K

Join us for a FUN Fall run/walk ( 5K & 10K) through the leisurely Leesburg countryside at Tarara Winery enjoying farms, vineyard and foliage on a crisp Autumn morning.

WHEN: October 16, 2016 8:00 am start for 10K and 8:15 am start for 5K

WHERE: The race starts and finishes at Tarara Winery- 13648 Tarara Lane, Leesburg, VA 20176. ClickHERE for details and directions to race site.

RACE BENEFACTOR: The Tarara “Race of Hearts” 5K/10K will benefit the American Heart Association.

SWAG: Registered participants will receive an exclusive “Race of Hearts” technical race shirt!

TEAM CHALLENGE: Team awards will be given to the top teams in the 5K/10K. Your team may be as large as you like, but must have a minimum of four members including at least one female. The top four times will be combined to determine each team’s scoring time. Team members must register under the same group name so we can accurately track your team’s time. Students running for a school team should state their school name. Other teams should list their company or organization (i.e. Leesburg Area Running Club or Team Topgolf)

TIMING: This race will be timed by NOVA Race Timing LLC using chip timing. Results will be available immediately after the race and will be posted on www.PaceMakersRun.org.

CERTIFIED COURSE: USATF certified

AGE CATEGORY: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29,30-24,35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over

AWARDS: Awards will be given just as soon as all times have been calculated, both individual and team awards. Top 3 male overall and top 3 female overall, as well as top 3 male/female in respective age groups. Awards must be picked up post-race and will not be mailed.

POST RACE PARTY: While waiting for awards you are welcome to a wine tasting provided by Tarara Winery and post-race snacks courtesy of Wegman’s. Massage Hope will also be on hand to massage away any achy muscles post-race. Please make sure you stick around and enjoy the great view with a flight of wine and/or soft drink while you relax in beautiful surroundings.

PACKET PICK-UP: Road Runner Sports of Sterling has graciously offered to be our packet pick-up site. On Saturday, October 15th from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, you may pick up your fully stuffed swag bags that will contain your tech t-shirt, chip timer and pins, loads of valuable coupons and offerings. Packets must be picked up at one of the designated times.

COURSE DESCRIPTION/MAP: The start line will be in the back of Tarara Winery by the performance stage across from the lake, follow signs for the start line. The course will loop around the grounds of Tarara, through the seasoned roads of the winery and back to the performance stage. Please click HEREfor map elevation and route.
