Join Ohio Wildlife Center’s annual Red Tail Run 5K and Walk for Wildlife on September 29th at 9am for a scenic, fall-colored run or walk in the rolling Shawnee Hills of Northwest Columbus. Once finished, racers can witness the release of a recovered wildlife hospital patient back to the wild and visit with resident hawks, owls, coyotes, foxes, and other education ambassadors at our Powell center.
This event and the course are family-friendly! All participants will receive a race t-shirt and finisher medal. Awards will be given to the 1st and 2nd place finishers in each age category.
This annual race supports the nearly 5,000 animals from 145 different species admitted to Ohio Wildlife Center’s free hospital each year! The goal is simple – treat these animals and get them back to the wild. All net proceeds are directed back to Ohio Wildlife Centers non-profit mission of fostering awareness and appreciation of Ohio’s native wildlife through rehabilitation, education and wildlife health studies. The Center does not receive any state, county, or local operational funding.
Show your support for Ohio native wildlife by registering for Red Tail Run 5K and Walk for Wildlife. Let’s help keep Ohio Wildlife Center’s mission moving forward with some moving of your own!
We hope to see you at the race! Red Tail Run takes place, in part, through the generosity of our sponsors. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, email events @ohiowildlifecenter.org for details.
