Reservoir Run Half Marathon

The Weston Kiwanis Club and The Weston Kiwanis Club Foundation, Inc. are honored to host the Ninth year of the Reservoir Run Half Marathon & 5K.  For 2020 we will be "GOING VIRTUAL" for ALL Events. We encourage you to join us for the Kiwanian's premier event. The Weston Community, Police, Town and Schools join together every year to bring you one of the finest events in CT.  We are not going to let COVID-19 stop us from racing or supporting Child Hunger Relief programs.  Why?  Because hunger is in our own Connecticut Back Yards.  We have all seen the news reports and the heroic efforts of the Connecticut Food Bank, tirelessly dispensing food but unable to serve all the families needing assistance.  Children are in need and the need is greater than ever before.  We are asking everyone to join us and support the hunger remediation effort by contributing either as a virtual runner and/or a caring donor. All of our events have a great reputation - always well organized, great swag, and grateful beneficiaries helping those who need it most. You will appreciate the attention to details and friendliness of everyone involved. For those who have run our course in October, the terrain and amazing scenery was uniquely deigned by Mother Nature! We think you'll love the views and the challenge wherever you can run or walk the distance - but this VIRTUAL year there are different rules. LOCATION: All running registrants can use a VIRTUAL Course of your choosing.    Run the distance between October 19th and October 25th and record your time on our site.  Results will be compiled and published to all race registrants.   Non runners can donate any time.  The earlier you register and/or donate, the earlier your generosity will be distributed through the Weston Kiwanis Foundation  to help those in need.  The Local Weston Virtual Courses:   Although roads are not closed, both courses are well maintained.  The 5K course has some rolling hills.  It's a simple loop course on quiet roads.                                     Course map link:  http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=6945597  The challenging Half Marathon course has terrific Autumn scenery to keep you relaxed and 'occupied'!                                      Course map link:  https://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=7160881  For those that have run with us before, both 5K and Half Marathon Weston Virtual courses will be identical to last year!  AFTER YOUR GREAT VIRTUAL RACE FINISH:  COVID-19 restrictions preclude a post race celebration for 2020.  All registrants and donors will be mailed thank you gifts as shown further in the website.   Virtual Race Finishing results will be presented ASAP after the October 25th results are recorded for the 5K and the Half Marathon.   Overall male and female champions in both races receive awards & are removed from their age groups.  Only the 5K has age divisions  9 & under, and 10-13.  BOTH 5K & Half Marathon events have age groups 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+     OUR DONATIONS - ORGANIZED BY THE KIWANIS CLUB OF WESTON 
Proceeds from the Race Registration and Donations  will go to the Kiwanis Club of Weston Foundation, Inc. (501(c)3) for The Connecticut Food Bank and Weston Social Services youth hunger relief programs and other needs identified by the Foundation.  Your registration plus donation amounts will also be rewarded with Thank You gifts!
