Rockin with the Bellas 5k walk/run

It's that time again...Bella Hearts 2nd annual Rockin With the Bellas 5k Walk/Run. This is not a timed race but a fun run, there will be medals for those participants who come in first place within their age group. It will be a great course whether it's your first 5k or one of many. This charity race allows all ages and paces to join in the fun and walk/run for a cause. A portion of the proceeds raised will be donated to the Kidney Foundation to assist with education, free screenings and early detection of kidney disease. An additional donation will be made to a Bella Hearts' recipient who has been diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. 

*A Bella Hearts drawstring bag will be given to the first 5 runners and the first 5 walkers who sign up

*Registration is from 7/1/19 to 9/13/19. Price increases the day of the race during on site registration- Runners- $20.00 and Walkers- $15.00

Bella Hearts is a new fundraising 501c3 non profit organization based out of Greensboro, NC. Our mission is to improve the lives of those affected by Heart, Kidney and Alzheimer's disease. We have 4 fundraising events a year where we raise money and donate portions of the proceeds to The American Heart Association, Alzheimer's Association and Kidney Foundation. During each event we choose a recipient(has to be diagnosed with a chronic illness) who receives a donation as well. 

Chronic kidney disease, also called chronic kidney failure, describes the gradual loss of kidney function. It occurs when a disease or condition impairs kidney function, causing kidney damage to worsen over several months or years. The damage to your kidneys can cause potential complications in almost every part of your body. Once the damage occurs it is irreversible, treatment includes a kidney transplant or dialysis. The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) is the largest, most comprehensive and longstanding, patient centric organization dedicated to the awareness, prevention and treatment of kidney disease in the US. Their mission is preventing kidney diseases, improving the health/well-being of individuals/families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of all organs for transplantation. 

Help Bella Hearts make a difference in our community. Let’s help those in need overcome the obstacles that they face once diagnosed with kidney disease. We want to assist with improving the lives of those individuals and their families.

*This is a kid friendly race therefore all kids are welcome, 12 and under may participate in the race for free. 13 and up will have to pay the registration fee. 

*No refunds once registered and no refunds due to inclement weather. The safety of our participants and volunteers is our primary concern, in the event of heavy rain and/or lightning the event will be postponed for a minimum of 20 minutes if the heavy rain and/or lightning continues 20 minutes after the scheduled event start, the race will be subject to cancellation.
