Run for a Reason 5K - Greenville

Greenville Women's league presents the 5th Annual Run for a Reason 5K. Our service organization is dedicated to serving those in eastern North Carolina and Greenville, NC.

Join Greenville Women's League for the 5th annual Run for a Reason, benefiting the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Foundation). JDRF was founded in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes. The Triangle/Eastern NC Chapter of JDRF established its first chapter office in 1996. The chapter territory covers 51 counties in eastern North Carolina, ranging from the Triangle region to the coast. JDRF currently funds more research toward curing type 1 diabetes than any other non-profit, non-governmental organization in the world.  Since their founding they have raised $25 million dollars through our events and of that $15 million has come back to the Triangle to fund research at local universities.

5K Awards

Awards medals will be awarded to: Top Finishers in Grades 3-8 (male and female), Top Three Finishers Overall (male and female), 1st - 3rd finishers (male and female) in the following age groups 1-15, 16-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, 56-99.  

Early packet pick up will take place on Friday, April 27 from 5-7 pm at Omega Sports, 3160 Evans Street E, Greenville, NC.
