The Inaugural Run2beatPD 5K Run/Walk & 1 Mile Walk will kick off Parkinson’s Awareness Month on April 11, 2015 in Forsyth, IL. Parkinson’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects 1 million people in the United States. Funds raised from this event will provide a scholarship for a high school senior in Macon County accepted to/enrolled in college for the fall 2015 semester with plans to enter the healthcare field. Remaining proceeds will be donated directly to the National Parkinson Foundation (NPF). Donations to the NPF will fund research in hopes of finding a cure and better treatment for the disease, and will also allow them to continue providing free education and support for patients, families, and the community.

For more information on previous Run2beatPD fundraising, visit our National Parkinson Foundation Run2beatPD Fundraising Page. For more information on this event, including scholarship, sponsorship, or volunteer opportunities, visit our Run2beatPD 5K Website.
