COVID-19 UPDATE 4-Aug-2020
Sponsors, Racers and Supporters -
Good day. It is with great disappointment that we have to announce moving the Runway 5K/10K @ MWH to 2021. COVID-19 impacts continue, and the current restrictions prevent us from holding the event on the revised planned date. We have tried to find ways to still hold this event, but we feel we cannot deliver the experience we have been promoting to you, the sponsors and the participants in a way that would be memorable. We evaluated holding a virtual event, but after much deliberation, the entire event is centered around running on the actual runway and people cannot get that experience elsewhere.
Sponsors – We recognize that you have made personal and financial contributions to the setup of this event. Our plan is to continue to recognize all the sponsors from now till the new race date in 2021. We will hold all sponsorship funds to support the event next year.
Racers – We very much appreciate your registrations and will be carrying them over to the 2021 event. The event is designed to give you a unique opportunity, at the same time be a fundraiser for our local high school cross country team. We appreciate you sticking with us. It means you have just under 12 months to further improve your 5K/10K times! So keep training!
We will be working with the Moses Lake Air Show and the Port of Moses Lake to establish a new date. Stay tuned!

Have you ever wanted to run down an airport runway? How about one of the longest in the world? Well, the Grant County International Airport in Moses Lake, Washington will be your chance to run the 13,503 foot runway for a 5K run/walk and 10K race. This is a unique opportunity to race on the same tarmac that thousands of aircraft land and take off from each year! Want a chance to PR your 5K and 10K, this is your course! Bring your co-pilots and crew for what will be an amazing day of racing in the Inland Northwest!
This will be an officially timed event, with Overall and Age Group Division awards. Also, this is a family-friendly race, where walkers and strollers are offered the same opportunity on the 5K course. With over 350 Visual Flight Rules (VFR) days a year, weather should be excellent and comfortable. Temperatures at race start should be in the mid-50s for the early June race.
The race will benefit the Moses Lake Cross Country Team booster club, creating unique opportunities and development of local high school runners to compete at the local, state and national levels.
