One goal: FAST
The RVA Elite 5K presented by the Collegiate Running Association returns for 2018. Come race a 5K on the fastest course there is-a track! This event was created in 2017 with a goal of assembling the strongest field of men and women in the Richmond metro and surrounding areas to produce a FAST 5K for all involved.
This event will take place Wednesday June 13th, 2018 at 8:30 PM at the University of Richmond track. Men and women will race together. It will begin after the last event of the RRRC summer track series that evening. Timing and officiating will be provided by University of Richmond coach and CRA co-founder Jon Molz.
The race is free and open to all that want to compete. However beginners and those looking for a “fun run” experience are advised of the nature of this event. This is a high end, no-frills, track meet style competition. 2017 statistics for the inaugural event:
Time range-15:14 to 18:46
Time range-17:50 to 18:43
MEN-Robert Reynolds 15:14 in 2017
WOMEN-Kiera D’Amato 17:50.5 in 2017
No advance registration necessary! We will have a table set up for race day registration near the entrance to the Robins Stadium. Show up June 13th at U of R ready to race! Results will be posted to this page and emailed to competitors after the event.
In the event of thunderstorms we will re-schedule for 8:30 PM Wednesday June 20th or the next date of the RRRC summer track series. Unfortunately this happened to us in 2017 so keep an eye on the Facebook page on June 12th and 13th should the possibility of severe weather be in the forecast!
