About the event
On Saturday, June 16, 2018, the Sappony Tribe along with th the Person County Tourism Development Authority and Person County Parks & Recreation Department will celebrate 6 years of trail running along the beautiful banks of Mayo Lake! This will be the 7th year for the trail run and special plans are underway to recognize and celebrate the day!
In its sixth year in 2017, this race drew over 180 registrants to Mayo Park – just north of Roxboro. Karrson McKenzie, 16, the defending champion, took the overall title in 20:24. Dillon Kunz holds the course record of 19:35 set in 2012. Jordan Lee, the defending women’s champion, won the women’s title in 22:32. Allison Peters ran 20:39 in 2014 to set the course record for the women
As the name implies, this is a trail run, starting and finishing at the Educational Building in the Park. The address for your GPS is 599 Neal's Store Road, Roxboro, NC. The mile will start at 7:30, and the 5K will begin at 8 am.
