September is recognized in the United States as Hunger Prevention Awareness Month. During this month Mending the Gap Inc.(MTG) is dedicated to raising awareness around the critical issue of Senior Hunger. MTG provides assistance to senior citizens living in Low-income/subsidize housing, in Extended Stays Motels, and are living alone and raising their grandchildren. All proceeds from this race will go to further our goal of doubling the number of seniors we are serving.

Awards: Trophy will be given to top overall male & female finishers. Medals for the top 3 finishers in the following age groups for male and female: 8-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
