50 Mile and 50 K Trail Run
Thursday July 14 9am-8pm: Packet pickup at SLE Outside
Friday July 15 5am-5:45am: Packet pickup at SLE Outside
Friday July 15 6:00am: 50 Mile Start
6:30am: 50K Start
Both courses are designed as a loop that varies from open state highway to maintained forest service roads to closed forest service roads to single track trail. The overall elevation gain/loss for the 50 mile is approximately 6,000 feet and the gain/loss for the 50K is about 4,000 feet. The majority of the race will traverse through heavily forested National Forest lands with opportunities for spectacular views and potential wildlife encounters. Bear spray is not required, but it is recommended. The course will be well marked with several aid stations along the route. Cell service is limited. Race officials will have a means of communication at each of the aid stations. While the course is not as difficult as some 50 mile and 50K runs it poses its own unique challenges and should be taken seriously. The 50K will follow the same route as the 50 Mile with a different connection point to return to the homebound trail.
Both races will start at SLE Outside Equipment Co-op located in downtown Seeley Lake and finish at The Bob Marshall Music Festival grounds.
