Shamrock Shuffle 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run

The City of Athens Parks and Recreation Department is now taking registration for the Shamrock Shuffle 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, March 17 on the Eureka Trail beginning at 8:30 am. The Eureka Trail is located at 1400 East Madison Avenue, Athens TN. The Eureka Trail is an old railroad bed that has been resurfaced with crushed stone and is similar to the Virginia Creeper Trail. The trail is very easy on the legs and scenic.

This race is a fundraiser to purchase and install solar safety lights along the Eureka Trail. Registration taken by March 8, will be guaranteed a commemorative 50/50 blend gender specific sized shirt.

Top runners in each age division will receive a medal as well as a medal for the runner in the best shamrock attire! Age categories are 10 and under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over. The 5K race will begin at 8:30 am with the Fun Run to follow. Following the race, join us for an awards ceremony and post-race munchies.

This race will be a fun attraction to bring more people out to the Eureka Trail and see how great it is.
