Shennel's Smile 5K Fun Run/Walk

This is an untimed 5K race in memory of Shennel McCrimmon McKendall, a victim of domestic violence November 29, 2004. This race takes place through the very streets of Pittsboro, NC where she loved to run. "I remember I would hear her voice in the kitchen on random days of the week.  I would walk in and Shennel would be standing there in her running pants with her huge smile." In her death she left her daughter, two step-sons, a large, close-knit family and a world of friends. We, her family would like to do our part to help prevent domestic violence.  In her honor and memory, we are hosting a 5K race called "Shennel's Smile". A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to a local organization serving the needs of victims of domestic violence.
