Southern African Challenge

Z Adventures is proud to present the Southern African Challenge. We will take adventurers and sports enthusiasts on a cross country journey filled with unique running challenges and cultural immersion. Our athletes have the option to partake in one or more running events over a fun-filled drive / fly vacation. The professionally managed official events will take place in South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. The Southern African Challenge is designed to accommodate every kind of runner and walker. Participants will get a chance to explore different countries, meet like-minded adventure-athletes, and soak in the sights and sounds of each destination. Runners & walkers can choose any distance they like ranging from 5K, 10K, half marathon to full marathon.

Day 1 South Africa (Friday 2/8)
Meet up in Durban, check in to hotel. Dinner and trip briefing. Overnight Durban.

Day 2: South Africa (Saturday 3/8)
Marathon 1: Durban Coastal Marathon, SOUTH AFRICA
Run marathon in the morning and drive to Lesotho border in the afternoon. Overnight in Sani Pass.

​Day 3: Lesotho (Sunday 4/8)
Marathon 2: Sani Pass Marathon, LESOTHO
​Cross border and run marathon in Lesotho, and return to South African side.
Overnight near Swaziland border

​Day 4: Swaziland (Monday 5/8)
Marathon 3: Sand River Marathon, SWAZILAND
Cross border early in the morning, run marathon in Swaziland, and return to South African side – drive through to Johannesburg. Overnight Johannesburg,

Day 5: Zambia (Tuesday 6/8)
Fly to Livingstone, Zambia, arrive after lunch. Livingstone. Rest day.
Optional activities: See the Victoria Falls, Sunset cruise on Zambezi.

​Day 6: Zimbabwe (Wednesday 7/8)
Marathon 4: Hwange Marathon, ZIMBABWE
Run in morning and then continue across to Botswana
Overnight in Kasane.

Day 7: Botswana (Thursday 8/8)
Marathon 5: Chobe Marathon, BOTSWANA
Run in Kasane and drive to Namibia.
Overnight in Namibia.

Day 8: Namibia (Friday 9/8)
Marathon 6: Impalila Island Marathon, NAMIBIA
Run early in the morning and drive to Zambia.
Overnight in Livingstone.

Day 9: Zambia (Saturday 10/8)
Marathon 7: Zambezi Waterfront Marathon, ZAMBIA
Run early in morning. Award ceremony and celebration dinner in the evening.
Overnight Livingstone.
