About the event
The Sparkler 5k was created in memory of Felisa Barnes who passed away in October of 2009 in a car accident. The race is called the Sparkler 5k because she always had a glow about her that lit up a room.
The proceeds from event go to the Felisa Barnes Memorial Scholarship Fund which awards two $500 scholarships to graduating students at Mason Senior High.
