Spartan Arbor Day 5K Fun Run/Virtual Run

The inaugural Spartan Arbor Day 5K was designed to raise money for planting trees across the MSU campus. For various reasons an average of 300 trees need to be removed annually on campus and this race will raise funds to help to keep our campus green by planting more trees. This untimed event on MSU’s campus will start and end near Conrad Hall and will feature a tree planting during the event!  

Can't make it to campus that day? You may also participate in the virtual run where you can run in support of MSU’s trees anywhere in the world on your own schedule!  We will mail the official “Spartan Arbor Day 5k” t-shirt to you in recognition of your support of MSU’s urban forest.

Check-in begins at 8:00 AM and the run will begin at 9:00 AM in MSU's main campus' east neighborhood near Conrad Hall and run along the River Trail past Spartan Stadium and Beal Gardens. During the event, MSU’s IPF Landscape Services department will be planting trees along the race course near the start/finish line! The run is an untimed event, but all participants will receive an official race t-shirt and the first 100 finishers will receive a free tree seedling to take home and plant in remembrance of participating in the event.
