The NEW Step Into Autism 54-Day Challenge!
The Autism Society of Greater Akron (ASGA) is excited to announce its 11th annual signature and largest fundraiser, Step Into Autism, and the brand-new 54-Day Challenge!
This year’s event is a HYBRID version that incorporates virtual AND in-person components and…is a Challenge! Ready for it?
The 54-Day Challenge starts April 24th and ends on June 17th, 54 days later. The Challenge honors the 1 in 54 children who live with autism in the United States, with a focus on encouraging individual and group activity. You can fundraise anytime before and during the challenge.
Participants are challenged to walk, run or cycle 1.54 miles a day for 54 days or whatever distance is best for them, or choose your own challenge in “Let’s Move” by setting your own distance or activity.
Set your goal
Log your miles or time under RESULTS on the Challenge site (starting April 24th)
Fundraise in support of ASGA
Participants choose whether to walk/run/cycle for 1.54 miles or whatever goal you set for yourself, over 54 days or from the time you register after April 24th. Participants can also choose to do an activity (workout, dancing, jumping jacks, etc.) and record the time you do it each day.
Either way, participants log miles or time between April 24th and June 17th. Your goal is your own! Track your progress on your results page and earn badges to mark your milestones. **You do not have to participate in the competition but you must register to receive your Challenge t-shirt.
Each participant is also a fundraiser, with money raised supporting ASGA and our mission to improve the lives of all affected by autism in Greater Akron. Create or join a Fundraising Team, sync your fundraising page with your Facebook page, and fundraise to support local individuals with autism and their families.
On Saturday, June 19th, meet us IN-PERSON, for our traditional Resource Fair and Family Fun Day at Lock 3 Park in Downtown Akron. Awards and prizes will also be given out. (CDC and local regulations followed).
The resource fair is FREE and open to the public. You DO NOT have to be a Challenge participant to attend.
Find local resources to support your autism journey, join in fun games, activities, and entertainment, and help us celebrate Challenge-winning individuals and teams. (More info coming soon!)
