STEVE OLSEN VIRTUAL RUN FOR ROGOSIN
The 2020 Steve Olsen VIRTUAL Run for Rogosin 5K run/walk was a huge success. For the safety and well-being of everyone all in-person events remain cancelled and this year’s Annual Steve Olsen Run for Rogosin will once again be held VIRTUALLY. We invite you to join us for a VIRTUAL 5K run/walk Friday, August 6th – Sunday, August 15th celebrating our hardworking & dedicated staff of doctors, nurses, dietitians, technicians, social workers and administrative staff.
This pandemic has been particularly challenging for our patients and Rogosin staff have done a remarkable job of providing them with the life-sustaining care and emotional support they need. Staff have worked together to maintain a safe environment for everyone coming to our centers and to deliver care in innovative ways. This includes:
Expanding the use of telehealth services to greatly reduce the need for in-person visits.
Offering online guidance, support groups and a wealth of resources for coping with the increased effects of the pandemic on mental health.
More recently, administering the COVID-19 vaccine to in-center hemodialysis patients chairside and to home dialysis patients at Rogosin.
Rogosin was one of eight winners in Round 1 of the KidneyX COVID-19 Kidney Care Challenge for Dr. Vesh Srivatana’s proposal, “Development of Telemedicine-Enhanced Peritoneal Dialysis Training Protocols During COVID-19”.
For those asking – what is a virtual run/walk? A virtual run/walk is an event that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk around your neighborhood, on your favorite trail, on the treadmill. It’s completely up to you!
We can’t be together in-person but let’s celebrate together virtually from Friday, August 6th – Sunday, August 15th!
HOW IT WORKS
“Sign Up” today to participate in the virtual run/walk. Create or join a team and help us spread the word!
Anytime between Friday, August 6th and Sunday, August 15th, put on your running/walking shoes, set out on the path (or treadmill) of your choice, and complete the 5K distance.

The Annual Steve Olsen Run for Rogosin was founded by Steve Olsen, owner of the West Bank Cafe in the heart of New York City’s theater district. Steve is a kidney transplant recipient and he and his friends’ personal commitment to our cause have always made this an unforgettable, one-of-a-kind event.
The Steve Olsen Run for Rogosin has become a great way to inform people about prevention and risk factors for kidney disease and to increase awareness about organ donation. Funds raised through this event will help Rogosin pursue critical research, treatment, and prevention efforts for thousands of people with kidney disease and the millions at risk for it due to diabetes and hypertension.
