Strides for James

Strides for James is a 5k/10k fun run, created by the James Dean Wilson Scholarship Committee. All proceeds from the race go directly to the scholarship fund at Clinton Community College.  Starting in 2017 we have now branched out and offer the James Dean Wilson Scholarship to two local high schools, thanks to Strides For James and our generous sponsors for making this happen.

Race Day registration will be accepted, however there will be a $5 price increase.

T-shirt cut-off will be May 5--be sure to register before then!  (children in the fun dash do not receive a t-shirt, but will have the option to buy a commemorative t-shirt for $8).

The James Dean Wilson Scholarship Fund was created as a way to remember a son, brother, friend and co-worker. In June, 2012, James’ life was cut short by a tragic motorcycle accident. He was 26 years old and is missed each and every day.

This young man was always willing to help. No matter how busy he was, he always said, “yes.” Whether it was teaching a fellow draftsman, helping a friend cut wood or just being moral support, James would put aside his own needs to help others.

It is in that same spirit of helping others that this scholarship endowment fund was created at Clinton Community College. Not just to remember, but to help those in our community.
