Who is ready for the TACP Challenge?
Due to the COVID-19 the race date is currently postponed to June 12-13 from it’s original date of April 11-12. We apologize for the inconvenience as it was beyond our control. We appreciate your support for this event!
This is a 24 hour run, walk, and ruck event that kicks off at 6:00 pm on Friday June 12, 2020 and ends 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 13, 2020.
The course is one-mile with a mix of trail and pavement. Refreshments and light snacks will be available throughout the event. There is a covered shelter and restrooms nearby, but please bring your preferred supplies for race day as this is more of a low key and free ultra event! There will be a grassy area for your chairs or small tents for your stuff.
This race will raise awareness in the local community for the fallen Air Force TACPs. All are welcome to join, and it is conveniently located at the Hawthorn Park, in Terre Haute, Indiana to solicit maximum participation from the community.
Run 1 mile, or 10, or even 100, the event will last for 24 hours. You may participate at any time during the 24 hours. There will be awards for top finishers!
What is a TACP you ask? They are the combat ground troops within the United States Air Force, Tactical Air Control Party (TACP.) TACPs are embedded with Army and Marine units on the frontline with the incredible responsibility of calling in an air strike on the right target at just the right time. These highly trained experts go through intense physical, mental and technical training in order to withstand the demanding conditions of battle and provide their team with the firepower they need for continued success on the battlefield.
TACP 24 Hour Challenge is sponsored by the TACP Association, a non-profit 501c(19) organization, and Indiana Trail Running Association, a 501c(3) organization.
TACP Association’s mission is to “Remember the Fallen, Honor the Living, and Aid Brothers in Need.” 100% of donations go to support the families of TACPs killed in action and provide financial support to their families during their darkest hours so healing can occur.
Indiana Trail Running Association is a community of trail running enthusiasts and outdoor advocates committed to preserving, building, and running the beautiful trails in the State of Indiana.
