The course is flat and visits many of Amsterdam’s Highlights. It starts and finishes at the 1928 Olympic Stadium. Fro the Stadium it enters to the Vondelpark, runs along the Rijksmuseum, follows the Amstel river on both sides while live music is played on boats, reaches the Maritime Museum, the historic canals, and gets back to Vondelpark before finishing inside the Olympic Stadium.

Lawrence Cherono outran roughly 11397 runners to win with a time of 02:05:09, establishing the new record for the course. Norbert Kigen earned runner-up honors with a time of 02:05:10.
