About the event
The Authentic Swimming Marathon is the revival, after 2,500 years, of the authentic swimming marathon. It includes various offshore swimming routes and is organized by the Municipality of Istiaia-Edipsos. Its sports production has been undertaken by Active Media Group.
The swimming competition provides the opportunity for modern swimmers to imitate the historical achievement of Skyllias and Idna, swimming over the wrecks of the historic naval battle of Artemisio.
