The Commack Coalition of Caring 5k

The Commack School District presents the The 5th Annual Commack Coalition of Caring 5 Kilometer Run.   DATE: Saturday, October 29, 2016

 

START TIMES: 8:30 a.m. – Free ½ mile Fun Run for kids @ CHS Track (no t-shirt) 9:00 a.m. – 5K Run/Walk ENTRY FEE: $25 – 5K Run/Walk (T-shirts provided if registered by 10/1/15) $30 – 5K Run/Walk (after 10/1/15 and day of race – no t-shirt provided) $70 – 5K Run/Walk Family Rate (immediate family only – max. 4 family members)

RACE ROUTE:

Start: Corner of Scholar Lane and Townline Road

- North on Townline Road

- Right turn on Marshmallow Road

- Right turn on Caramel Road

- Left Turn on Hayrick Road

- Continue on Hayrick across Scholar all the way to end.

Finish: Through parking lots to the lot near tennis courts.

 

COURSE DETAILS:

 

Residential neighborhood; flat, measured, timed and managed by Start2Finish Corp. using the Start Mat timing system.

Starting Line Mats:

This year we will be utilizing a starting line mat system to give each runner a Net Time as well as a Gun Time.

RACE DAY CHECK-IN:

7:00 a.m. – 8:15 a.m. – Commack High School Lobby, 1 Scholar Lane, Commack, NY. No numbers will be issued after 8:15 a.m.

 

RACE DAY REGISTRATION:

7:00 – 8:15 a.m. – Commack High School Lobby.

 

RULES OF COMPETITION:

For the safety of all participants and to satisfy insurance requirements, no skates, baby strollers, baby joggers or animals permitted on course.

AWARD CATEGORIES:

 11 and under; 12 – 14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+

AWARDS:

Overall Male and Female receive trophies. Top 3 finishers in each age/gender group receive medals. Every child participating in the Fun Run will receive a medal.

ADDED AMMENITIES:

There will be food and beverages at the finish line. Pre-race entertainment also provided!

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

Proceeds from the Run/Walk will go toward a scholarship for a graduating senior from Commack High School.

MISSION STATEMENT:

 The Commack Coalition of Caring, through a dedicated group of parents, school professionals and experts in substance abuse are dedicated to helping prevent substance use and abuse. The Coalition recognizes the important influences of the child’s environment and is focused on interventions beyond the school setting.
