The Conor Irwin Memorial Classic

The Conor Irwin Memorial Classic Race honors Conor Irwin, an intelligent, funny, kind, and amazingly fast young man who passed away tragically on December 5, 2016 at the age of 14 well before his time in a skateboarding accident.  All proceeds from the race go directly to the Conor Irwin Memorial Fund which provides scholarships to deserving students.  Due to the continued COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 Conor Irwin Memorial Classic will again be conducted virtually.  This year, runners 13 years of age and older will run or walk a minimum of 3.1 miles / 5K any time between registration and June 26, 2021.  Runners ages 12 or younger will run or walk a minimum of 1 mile.  Registrants can donate $25 if they would like a race t-shirt.  You can also donate any desired amount even if you prefer not to participate by running or walking.  Once registrants complete their miles, they will post a picture from a running app showing their course or a picture of them finishing on the Conor Irwin Memorial Classic Facebook page.  As everyone who knew him knew well, Conor loved bow ties.  For this year’s virtual run, runners can run a “bow tie course” of their own creation.  Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 Bow Tie Courses submitted to the Facebook site.
