The Oregon Trail® Game 5K

Based on the classic 1980's computer game, The 3rd Annual Oregon Trail® Game 5K and Kids Run, take runners on a cross-country adventure from Missouri to Oregon, over mountains and across rivers, and to their final destination - Oregon City! Runners will have to make decisions along the course such as whether to ford a river, go hunting, and more! Can you make it to Oregon or will you die of dysentary? Each decision you make along the trail will determine your ultimate fate. Runners receive a timed score as well as a game score.

The Oregon Trail® Game 5K is a fun yet challenging courses through historic Downtown Oregon City.

Course features include:

Start in historic Main Street in Downtown Oregon City
Run past the iconic 99-year-old Municipal Elevator
Challenging 223-step run up stairs alongside Singer Hill Falls
Beautiful views overlooking the Willamette River and Willamette Falls
Run through the historic McLoughlin neighborhood and past attractions including Carnegie Library, McLoughlin House and Barclay House
Run through Waterboard Park’s beautiful wooded natural area
Finish at the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center
Family-friendly
The Oregon Trail® Game 5K is a family-friendly event. Children 12 years and under can register at a special rate of $15 (to run or walk the 5k with an adult) where awards will be given for the top three runners.The 5K course is stroller-friendly. Strollers will be re-routed to the Municipal Elevator instead of the stairs to complete the course.

The Kids Race will be held at the End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center and will start after the 5k race. It's a great way to learn more about the Oregon Trail and enjoy the Interpretive Center.

Please note: no dogs allowed on the 5K or Kids Run course.

Packet Pickup
There are two opportunities to pick up your packets before race day for The Oregon Trail® Game 5k and Kids Race. We strongly encourage runners to pick up their packet on Friday or Saturday. Lines on race day can be very long, so the more people who pick up their packets before the race, the better! If you cannot attend packet pickup, feel free to have a friend or family member pick up your packet for you. Anyone picking up multiple packets, PLEASE make sure you inform everyone you are picking up for that you are doing this.
