Great Spring Race!

Course Description:

“John Bryan is the most scenic state park in western Ohio. The 752-acre park contains a remarkable limestone gorge cut by the Little Miami River which is designated as a state and national scenic river. A portion of the gorge itself is designated as a national natural landmark.”

COURSE MAP: The course again be a 2-loop course traversing through Glen Helen and John Bryan. Each loop will be approximately 15.5 miles long with full aid at approximately miles 9, 13, 16, 25, and 29. Additionally water at miles 2.5, and 18.5. The course will be mostly intact from last year with a few minor changes. Once course has been finalized, we will post here!! Stay tuned!

AID STATIONS: Fully manned aid stations at miles 9, 13, 16, 25, and 29. Unmanned water at miles 2.5, and 18.5.

DROP BAGS: You can have drop bags at miles 9, 13, 16, 26 and 29.

PACKET PICK-UP: Packet pick-up will begin at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 20th at the shelter in the campground. Enter the park and park in the first parking lot on the right after the park office. Shelter is up the hill on the left outside of the parking lot.

WHEN: Saturday May 19, 2018. The race starts at 7:30 a.m. Time cut-off time for completion is 9 hours or 4:30 p.m.

CUT-OFFS: For the safety of the runners and comfort of the volunteers, cutoffs will be enforced. Total completion time is 9 hours. To complete within 9-hours you must start your second loop by 12:00 p.m. This is a 17:25/mile pace. The sweeper will begin sweeping at 12:30 p.m.

PARKING: John Bryan State Park, Yellow Springs, Ohio. We will fill the main lot (I will have at least two spots coned for the course). There are plenty of side parking areas.

FEES: $45. Through April 24, 2018 registration includes a Patagonia short-sleeve light weight capilene t-shirt. . After April 24, please contact race director for availability of this shirt or an old school tie-dye cotton T. LAST DAY TO REGISTER WITH GUARANTEE OF SHIRT IS APRIL 24, 2018.

REGISTRATION:

AWARDS: Awards for top three overall female and male, and finisher awards for all who complete the course within the 9-hour cut-off. “Dig Down Deep” award for the last finisher who completes both loops within 9 hours.
