The Amica Iron Horse Half is a scenic two-loop course which begins and ends on Iron Horse Boulevard in the charming town of Simsbury, loaded with quaint shops and restaurants. This race has been one of “Bart’s Favorite Picks” in Runner’s World. Enjoy our world famous grilled cheese sandwiches, awards and a fun run for kids. The 10K and 5K run simultaneously with the half marathon. Same finish line and same great post race party.

Benefits the Simsbury Boy Scouts. Please bring nonperishable food items to benefit the Connecticut Food Bank.

Results 2017: Amica Iron Horse 1/2 Marathon, 10k and 5K

1/2 Marathon Mario Vazquez outpaced more then 794 runners to win in 01:14:02, followed by Kevin Vallez who finished with a time of 01:18:42. The third place went to Colin Mclaughlin with a time of 01:19:34 In the women’s race, Sara Belles took top spot in 01:32:16 . She finished 32 seconds ahead of Heather Szuba. Eleanor Dowd got the third

Results: Amica Iron Horse 1/2 Marathon, 10k and 5K

The victory went to Colton Gale who crossed the finish line at 01:12:43 . James McKirdy secured second in this year’s race with a time of 01:13:41. Mario Vazquez (01:18:26) made notched third place. For the women, it was Shannon Siragusa (01:25:20) taking the top spot. Amanda Chang earned runner-up honors with a time of 01:29:04Finishing third was Wendy McLaughlin (01:32:06).
