Urban Rucksack 5 Mi Race

On April 6th 2019, we will be holding an Urban RuckSack Race followed by a celebration BBQ. Check-in and Registration will begin at 8 am and the race will start promptly at 9:00 am. We will be honoring the memory of Jeremy Stinson and Job Hubbard, local Veterans who have lost their battle with PTSD. 

We have partnered with Sharps Ridge Veterans Memorial Park and the Vietnam Veterans of America to host the relay. Come on out for a fun day of hiking or running your way through the challenging mountainous course wearing a Rucksack or backpack weighted down with non-perishable foods to symbolize the weight of traumatic experiences that our Veterans carry on a daily basis. All proceeds will benefit Vetitation, Veterans + Meditation. A national 501c3 dedicated to helping Veterans find peace and overcome the effects of PTSD through the learning and practicing of Meditation.   

Please pack your Rucksack with Non perishable foods. After the race all foods will be donated to a local food drive while participants enjoy a great lunch in a wonderful mountainous park right in the heart of Knoxville, All for Veterans!!!!
