About the event

Experience the world-famous Venice Marathon, a road race navigated along landmarks such as Ponte della Libertà and Parco San Giuliano. With a limit of 8,000 participants, this flat and fast course is known for its 14 bridges over Venice's canals and 3-4 inclines between the 25th and 35th kilometer. As one of few marathons with an IAAF Silver Label, it continues to captivate runners and the public alike. Get a glimpse into the city with the pre-marathon events such as the unveiling of Exposport and the Family Run, allowing children and young people to join. Make sure to take advantage of free entrance to Villa Pisani, the grandiose palace which hosted kings and emperors in the past, in addition to a discount for your family and friends. Finally, the park of the Villa will be open to all participants on race-day morning, providing the perfect scenery to warm up and get ready for the marathon!

Race size: 5000 - 9999 participants
The race starts in Stra, on the mainland, 25 km west of the city of Doges. For the first part of the race, you will run along the Riviera del Brenta where you'll see the magnificent vacation villas the Venetian aristocracy built during the 18th century.
You'll then cross the 4 km long Liberty Bridge to arrive in Venice's Port Area. The race of the course is run in the city center. You'll cross the Grand Canal on a floating pontoon bridge, pass by Piazza San Marco and the Palazzo Ducale, before reaching the finish line located in Riva Sette Martiri.

The course is quite flat but there are a few short climbs between the 25th and 35th km.

The race, despite taking place in a beautiful location, had only a few positive aspects. The pacemakers started together, which was a disadvantage, as there were no time intervals, making it challenging to adjust the pace to individual runners' needs. Additionally, the absence of time zones at the start, only one water station on a hot day, and the crowd at the beginning made the first kilometer of the race uncomfortable. The race organization left much to be desired, and the price of 30 euros for a single photo from the organizer was excessive.

La mia prima maratona, indimenticabile! Percorso facile con una fine più insidiosa contando tutti i ponti a partire da quello del parco di San Giuliano, e le vie più strette a Venezia... Però poter correre a Venezia è un emozione pazzesca! Molto consigliata

Amazing experience, best atmosphere at a marathon so far. Not as easy as the flat course would make you think but still a most for all marathon enthusiasts.
