Veterans Day 5k / 10K - Presented by Awesome Events

As Americans we are free!  We can get up in the morning, go to work at the job we choose, go to the stores we like, or simply step out the door and go for a run/walk.   We have these freedoms thanks to the women and men that make up our military.  So many selfless americans have given the ultimate sacrifice so we can wake up each day and simply do as we wish.   This Veterans Day, I wanted to personally execute my freedom of entrepreneurship and philanthropy the best way i know how, but hosting a race to honor those who served.  

In 2017, we had over 90 registrations and over 85 finishers brave the cold and make this event one to remember!!

Proceeds from this race will be donated to help our veterans in need. Actual Charity TBD

RACE DETAILS:  10k and 5k races will be held at Lake Wilhelm, Goddard State Park on Saturday, November 10th.  

NEW in 2018 - FINISH MEDAL and EVENT SHIRTS (if registered before  Nov. 1) FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS! 

10K Course:  Starting with an out and back on the causeway (might be windy... but always pretty), the course will continue onto the paved trail around Lake Wilhelm.  Upon reaching the final turn around, participants will head back to the finish line located at the marina pavilion.  10K course will have 2 water stops that you will pass 2x.    

5K Course:  Starting just inside the park driveway.  Participants will run and out and back on the paved trail and finish at the marina pavilion.   5k course will have 1 water stop that you will pass 2x.  

Refreshments:   Expect traditional post race goodies: Water, Bananas. Depending on the weather and temperature we will have Hot chocolate and soup available as well (Veggie or Tomato)

Awards:  Top 3 Men and women in each race distance.   Age Group awards: Top Male/Female finisher in each group (15 and under, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+)  NOTE: If by some amazing chance this event has registrations above 100, we will go 3 deep per AG.  Again, saving expenses to maximize proceed donation)
