About the event
The Wakefield 5K Run/Walk & Kids' Fun Run is held in memory of Kelvy Costin, Wakefield’s former Athletic Director whose commitment to fitness and sportsmanship set the pace for our entire community. All proceeds benefit the Wakefield School Athletic program.
Prizes in the 5K Run will be awarded for each gender to the top 2 overall, the top 2 Wakefield students, the top 2 Wakefield parents, the top 2 faculty/staff and the top two alumni. Awards will also be given for each age bracket.
Check-in begins at 8:00 am. The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 9:05 am following the opening ceremony. The kids' Fun Run will begin at 10:00 after the conclusion of the 5K. Cookout begins at 11:00. Varsity soccer game is at 12:00 noon. Rides and amusements will be available from 10:30-2:00.
Canned Food Drive - Bring a canned food item and support area food banks and food pantries. Spartan and Athenian points will be awarded.
This event is part of Wakefield's Homecoming Weekend! Stay after the race for a cookout and Varsity soccer game!
