Wizard of Oz-Ford

What: The Wizard of Oz-Ford will consist of a 1 mile run/walk race in Oxford, CT. 
Where: Schiavi Park (GPS will be emailed prior to the event)
When: 6/16/18 at 12:00 PM - 
When registration will be on 6/12/18 at noon and is a 3 step process. All steps should be completed.
Step 1: Sign up on runsignup for the event. Please remember there are only 30 spaces for this race.
Step 2: Send $15 to [email protected] via paypal. If you don't have paypal, ask a friend to pay for you and make a note in the payment that it is for your registration.
Step 3: Congratulate yourself since that is all you need to do.
Any proceeds will be donated to the Roxbury Community College Foundation on or before April, 2019 most likely associated with a Boston Marathon runner which has yet to be determined. If there is no individual running the Boston Marathon in 2019, the proceeds will be donated to the RCCF anyways.
Course Description: The 1 mile (ish slightly over a mile) course will consist of running on the shoulder of the entry gravel road to the Schaivi Park and a slight grass portion around a flag pole. The route will consist of two out and back segments. Each out and back equals approximately .52 mile. There could be other events in the park so participants will have to be willing to yield to others using the park and consider carpooling.
Due the location and timing of the event, only 30 runners are eligible for this race. The event will be timed by hand and the results posted on coolrunnings. Restroom facilities will be provided. Please know that this is a low key and no-frills event (e.g. no shirts or swag) so as much money can go to charity as possible. Water will be provided and light refreshment. The event is rain or shine.
A growler of beer from the Black Hog Brewing Company in Oxford will be given to the overall male and female winners. If the winner is not of legal drinking age, a substitute prize will be determined.
