Here is a selection of Half Marathons organized in August 2013 that were previously featured in our monthly newsletter.
Canada – British Columbia – Saturday August 10, 2013 – 07:30
As its name states, the race follows a point-to-point course along the Lake Windermere in the Columbia Valley, offering great and peaceful sceneries on the rocky mountain range and the lake.
USA – Alaska – Sunday August 11, 2013 – 09:00
The hilly course is an unpaved gravel road where you can expect a lot of pot holes, but it is beautiful, with dozens of waterfalls scattered along the way on both sides of the steep valley the race follows.
United Kingdom – Scotland – Saturday August 17, 2013 – 14:00
Part of the Nairn Highland Games, the Nairn Half Marathon is starting and finishing within the Games arena. It goes by the beach and harbor before heading through open countryside along a fairly flat course. A great opportunity to discover the Scottish culture.
United Kingdom – Wales – Saturday August 17, 2013
The race takes the runners from Tywyn to Abergynolwyn and back, a circuit usually done by train on the Talyllyn Railway. The terrain is varied with roads, tracks, agricultural land and can be steep and muddy.
Brazil – Sunday August 18, 2013 – 08:30
The race takes place a month after the Marathon and follows part of its route. The whole route is run along the beaches such as the famous Copacabana and Ipanema.
A few interviews about races held during the month of August have already been published in this blog. Check them out.
