Florent Caelen, from Liege is the first Belgian runner to win the Capital city’s marathon since 2008 when Rik Ceulemans won the race. Florent finishes the race in 2:16:31. This is new personal best on the distance. Paul Kiprop from Kenya takes the second place in 2:21:21 and Michael Brandebourg also from Belgium takes the third place in 2:21:34.
In the women’s race it is also a Belgian runner who wins : Louise Deldicque. The runner from Louvain-La-Neuve wins with a time of 2:56:26. Ann Ashworth from South Africa finishes second in 2:57:55 and Kristin Husby from Norway third in 2:59:56.
