Here is a selection of Half Marathons organized in December 2013 that were previously featured in our monthly newsletter.
Italy – Sardinia – Sunday December 1, 2013 – 09:30
The capital of Sardinia holds its winter half marathon for the fifth time. The race starts at the Molentargius Saline Regional Park where many bird species spend the winter, before heading to the Poetto waterfront.
USA – Louisiana – Saturday December 14, 2013 – 08:00
The flat and fast race is run in the heart of New Orleans, along the Mississippi River Trace pathway in the City Park, providing great views on the river and on downtown.
Russia – Tuesday January 7, 2014
You can expect the extreme weather conditions of Siberian winter where temperature can go as low as -39°C (it happened in 2001). As the race is held during Russian Christmas, there should be traditional costumes and winter swimmers to add a little spice to the event.
USA – Illinois – Saturday January 11, 2014
This is another frosty race! Starting in Grand Park, the race goes southward along the scenic Lakefront trail.
Netherlands – North Holland – Sunday January 12, 2014 – 12:25
The race takes the runners on a loop starting and finishing at the coastal village Egmond aan Zee. Most of the race is run through woods and dunes or along the beach.
A few interviews about races held during the month of December have already been published in this blog. Check them out.
