Fall Foliage Half Marathon a Huge Success For Runners and the Community

The 3rd Annual Fall Foliage Half Marathon & 5K was a huge success this past Sunday at The Dutchess County Fairgrounds. The new location supported the necessary needs and goals of this year’s Fall Foliage Half Marathon. Registration topped out at 767, a twelve percent increase over last year. Charity partners Team Fox and Northern Dutchess Hospital Foundation had a strong presence at the race with many athletes supporting both of these great causes. Presenting sponsor, Meltzer & Hill Wealth Advisory had multiple employees that participated in the race including Partner, Phillip Meltzer.

The Men’s Half Marathon winner was Gregory Close with a time of 1:16:45, the Women’s Half Marathon winner was 2012 Olympic Trial Qualifier, Emily Hulme with a time of 1:21:11. The Men’s 5K winner was Ryan Tolfree with a time of 17:36, and the Women’s 5K winner was three time New York City Triathlon Champion, Rebeccah Wassner.

With the goal of breaking 1,000 runners next year, Running Away Inc. is thrilled with the results of the 3rd Annual Fall Foliage Half Marathon and 5K. “We could not have asked for a better race weekend that involved the community and the surrounding areas. The entire community, Northern Dutchess Hospital Foundation and Team Fox were extremely helpful and supportive in planning before and during race day,” said Race Director and President of Running Away Inc. Matt Linick.
