Here is a selection of Marathons organized in February 2013 that were previously featured in our monthly newsletter.
New Zealand – Saturday February 9, 2013 – 08:30
This scenic marathon takes place on the South Island of New Zealand. It starts at Hawks Crag and goes up the Buller Gorge to Berlin’s Hotel before heading back down to the finish line at Victoria Square in Westport.
Malta – Sunday February 24, 2013 – 08:00
The race is a downhill marathon that starts just outside Mdina, Malta’s old capital city and the highest point of the island, and gently goes down to Sliema. Malta is located between Sicily, Tunisia, and Libya; you can expect the weather to be sunny and warm.
USA – Texas – Sunday February 24, 2013 – 07:00
The El Paso Marathon is a downhill race with an elevation drop of 1,584 feet. The race begins at the top of TransMountain Road, goes down through the Fort Bliss military base, and finishes in El Paso’s downtown entertainment district. If you need to set a new PB to qualify for Boston, this race is for you.
USA – Massachusetts – Sunday February 24, 2013 – 10:00
The race, which is mostly flat with a few gentle rolling sections, follows a two-loop course designed to take in all the lovely landmarks of Hyannis Craigville Beach, Kalus Beach, Hyannis Harbor, Lewis Bay, and the John F. Kennedy Memorial. It is a great way to discover the charming villages of Cape Cod.
Hong-Kong – Sunday February 24, 2013
The marathon starts in the heart of Kowloon and, after crossing four bridges and passing through two tunnels, finishes in Victoria Park on the Hong Kong Island. Beware: Hong Kong has high humidity levels, which make the race much more challenging.
A few interviews about races held during the month of February have already been published in this blog. Check them out.
