Thousands of participants from more than 50 countries aim to raise $1M for local charities
TORONTO, Ontario – Running First Ltd. is pleased to present the 2015 GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon taking place on Sunday, May 3, 2015. Participants from more than 50 countries will take part in the marathon, half marathon, relay and 5K running and walking events. With the goal of surpassing one million dollars in donations, the event benefits many local charities including The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, SickKids Foundation, MS Society of Canada, GoodLife Kids Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association and many more.
The Races

- The Marathon starts at 7:30 am on Beecroft Road behind Mel Lastman Square and finishes at Ontario Place.
- The Relay starts at 7:50 am
- The Half Marathon starts at 8:30 am.
- The 5K run starts at 8:00 am and the 5K walk starts 12:00 pm. Both 5K events start and finish at Ontario Place.
GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon Expo
Preceding the race is the GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon Expo. Featuring more than 50 vendors, runners pick up their race kits and shop for the latest in running apparel and more while gathering information on the most exciting marathon destinations and racing events. The Expo is taking place on Friday, May 1, 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm and Saturday, May 2, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place, Hall C. The Expo is free and open to the public.

Special Guest- Dr. Mama Sarah Obama, grandmother to U.S. President Barack ObamaThe GoodLife Fitness Toronto Marathon is pleased to welcome Ambassador Dr. Mama Sarah Obama, grandmother to U.S. President Barack Obama, from Kenya. Mama Sarah Obama is the Head of Delegation and Patron of Safeguard Orphans and Windows Organization (SOWO). Partnering with the Harun Otwoma Foundation, she is taking in the event with her team to observe the event’s organization and apply it to the SOWO Half Marathon in Kenya. The SOWO Half Marathon benefits persons with disabilities, orphans and widows, homeless, and senior’s care facilities in Kenya. Mama Sarah Obama and the SOWO delegation will be at the Expo.
Psyching Team
Our Psyching Team is returning this year to help participants before, during and after their race. As the longest-standing team of its kind in the world, the Toronto Marathon Psyching Team has offered training to more than 200 psychologists, sport psychologists, and graduate students and has become a model for the expansion of psyching teams throughout the world. They will be at the Expo, start line, on-course (“Psychs on Bikes/Foot”), and at the finish line. More information can be found at psychingteams.com.
