Mark your calendars for the inaugural Ventura Marathon and Beach Party on Saturday and Sunday, September 7th and 8th.
Aside from the marathon, there will be a half-marathon and a 5K as well. The beach party expo is expected to be a crowd-drawer too, along with other fun events during the weekend-long beach extravaganza.
The flat and fast marathon course, slated to be a Boston Marathon qualifier, aims to deliver an epic experience with a beachfront finish at the historic Ventura Pier.
Race director and co-founder Josh Spiker stated, “We have been planning this race for years and are very excited it is finally happening. I was born and raised in Ventura and will be fun to highlight our awesome city.”
Anyone and everyone is welcome, from walkers to runners of all ages! The race will benefit several local charities including Pier Into The Future in addition to supporting charity teams wherein participants can raise money for the charity of their choice.
