Here is a selection of Half Marathons organized in June 2013 that were previously featured in our monthly newsletter.
USA – Colorado – Saturday June 1, 2013 – 09:00
Home of the famous Leadville 100, Leadville also hosts The Turquoise Lake Half Marathon. The race offers unique mountain views as the runners run clockwise around scenic Turquoise Lake. The first 7.5 miles of the course consists of hilly paved road. The last 5.5 miles are run on a single-track dirt trail.
Austria – Sunday June 2, 2013 – 09:30
Not far from Salzburg is the Moodsee, in the Austrian Alps. Despite being located in the mountains, the race is flat and fast and offers picturesque views on the moon shaped lake.
Canada – Ontario – Sunday June 2, 2013
The entire course is flat, and is right next to the famous Niagara River. It is the “wateriest” course in Canada. Runners and walkers will have water views all the way, and go past The Falls TWICE!
USA – Maine – Sunday June 23, 2013 – 08:00
The route follows the beautiful Androscoggin River, offering the runners different terrains to run on: urban roads, rural roads, some dirt and trails. What makes the race special are the popular bands set along the course to cheer runners up.
France – Creuse – Sunday June 30, 2013 – 09:30
The lake is a large man-made reservoir located on the Plateau de Millevaches.
The race starts in Port Crozat, circles around the lake clockwise before finishing on the Vassivière island.
