Here is a selection of Ultramarathons organized in June 2013 that were previously featured in our monthly newsletter.
France – Var – Saturday June 15, 2013 – 04:00
The Verdon Canyon is one of the most beautiful canyons in Europe. The race starting in Aiguines, is not for the faint ones. With 6,500m elevation gain it will lead the runners on both sides of the canyon, along the 700m high cliffs on quite technical ups and downs. The race celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Namibia – Saturday June 22, 2013
The Fish River Canyon is the second largest canyon in the world, after the famous Grand Canyon in Colorado. The self-supporting race follows the Fish River Canyon hiking trail where Ryan Sandes established in 2011 a staggering 6h 57 min record.
Japan – Sunday June 30, 2013
The race is located in the Northern tip of the Northern Island of Japan (Hokkaidō). It is one of the most popular ultra marathons of Japan with about 5,000 runners taking part each year. The 100k course goes around the beautiful Saroma Lake.
A few interviews about races held during the month of June have already been published in this blog. Check them out.
