Here is a selection of Marathons organized in June 2014 that were previously featured in our monthly newsletter.
Canada – Alberta – Banff
The out and back race starts in the Canadian Rockies, 42 kilometers from Banff, runs down the Bow Valley Parkway, passing the Vermilion Lakes and finishes in beautiful downtown Banff.
USA – Colorado – Steamboat Springs
The race starts 8,128 feet above sea level at Hahns Peak, follows the Elk River and finishes in downtown Steamboat Springs, 1,400 feet below. The whole downhill route is run on country roads and offers great views on the surrounding snowcapped mountains.
Denmark – Nordjylland – Læsø
Læsø is a small Danish island. It is located in the middle of the North Sea between Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Læsø Island is a small heaven, flat and no traffic: a perfect location for a great run among a stunning nature.
United Kingdom – Cumbria – Portinscale
It’s England’s highest Trail Marathon, going over Scafell Pike. The course is tough mountain trails with approximately 90% of single-track trails. Furthermore, you’ll need to exercise your navigation skills to run to the finish line.
Australia – New South Wales – Wolgan Valley
The race located in the Blue mountains follows a challenging route features creek crossing, single tracks, abandoned railways and of course going through the Glow Worm Tunnel at km 31 which is illuminated by myriads of tiny glow-worms.
