MyrtleBeach.com was named today as the title sponsor of the 17th annual Myrtle Beach Marathon. The MyrtleBeach.com Myrtle Beach Marathon will be Valentine’s Day weekend in 2014.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with the naming of MyrtleBeach.com as our official title sponsor,” Race President Shaun Walsh said. “The MyrtleBeach.com team shares our passion for this event and with their help we can expand our community of runners and visitors to our great city!”
MyrtleBeach.com reaches more than 2.3 million potential visitors each year through its website and connects with more than 290,000 fans on its Facebook page.
“We’re so excited to be working with the marathon for the 2014 race,” said Cassidy Strader, MyrtleBeach.com editor. “We are passionate about bringing visitors to Myrtle Beach, and this partnership challenges us to expand our reach into more niche communities like runners. It’s a great opportunity and challenge for our team.”
The MyrtleBeach.com staff also has a passion for running, with about a dozen staffers planning to participate in one of the MyrtleBeach.com Myrtle Beach Marathon events.
The weekend’s events include a one-mile Family Fun Run, a neon night 5K, the Dasani Half Marathon and the full marathon. Discounted registration is available through Oct. 14.
