New records at the 50th Scotiabank Calgary Marathon

Kip Kangogo celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Scotiabank Calgary Marathon by winning the marathon in 2:19:47 and setting a new course record. Gela Hailu from Ethiopia finished second with a time of 2:19:58 and Daniel KipKoech third in 2:20:06.

In the women’s race, Emily Chepkorir also set a new course record by reaching the finish line in 2:46:21. She was followed by Maria Zambrano (2:52:45) and Nadine Mueller (3:00:01).

1,618 runners finished the marathon.

More than 15,000 runners participated in the different races. The event managed to raise a record-breaking $1,150,000 for charities.
