Here is a selection of Marathons organized in October 2013 that were previously featured in our monthly newsletter.
Vietnam – Saturday October 5, 2013 – 06:00
The self sufficiency 3-day event takes place in the high mountains of Northern Vietnam in Hoang Lien National Park next to Fansipan (3,143m), the highest summit of Indochina. The tough route goes along dirt and hilly trails through small villages, hillsides, forests and rice fields.
USA – Minnesota – Sunday October 6, 2013
The course is a scenic tour of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The race course winds through the shimmering lakes and historic neighborhoods, past the Basilica and Cathedral and ends with a fantastic view and downhill finish to the Capitol.
New Zealand – Saturday October 12, 2013 – 07:20
Great Barrier Island is located approximately 90 km off the coast of Auckland City, New Zealand. The race is a unique marathon course with a variety of terrain & breathtaking views culminating in a truly challenging course that would test even the more experienced marathon runners.
Spain – Basque Country – Saturday October 19, 2013 – 20:00
The race will begin at 9 p.m. The course has two laps at sea level, totally flat, and crosses the main streets of Bilbao, with the most emblematic buildings of the city specially illuminated. The finish line is located at the iconic Guggenheim Museum.
Germany – Hesse – Sunday October 27, 2013
The race is a big city event with 16 000 runners and numerous supporters. After a start near the old city cathedrals, you will go away from the city centre on the South side of River Main and then back on the North side. The third quarter of the course takes you back towards the city centre. Frankfurt Marathon is highly recommended for its atmosphere and for anyone wishing to set a new PB.
