Abel Kirui took top honors by finishing the race in 02:11:23. Dickson Chumba got second with a time of 02:11:26. For 3 little seconds Chumba couldn’t repeat last year’s win in Chicago. Rounding out the top three was Gideon Kipketer with a time of 02:12:20.
In the ladies race, Florence Kiplagat once again claimed victory with a time of 02:21:32 , ahead of Edna Kiplagat (02:23:28). This is the second year in a row that Kiplagat wins the marathon. Last year she had finished the 26.2 miles in 2:23:33. The third place went to Valentine Kipketer with a time of 02:23:41
