Ben Van Beekum (1:12:08.1) bested more than 800 runners to win the 34th annual St. George Half Marathon in southwest Utah.
In a tight race for second, Brain Summers (1:15:25.5) managed to hold off Shi-Quan Nettingham (1:15:28.6) and Michael Stutz (1:15:39.2).
Summer finished fourth a year ago.
For the women, it was Amber Green (1:19:11.0) cutting close to 12 minutes from her tenth-place finish a year ago, to take the top spot.
She finished fifth in 2014.
Emily Barrett earned runner-up honors in this year’s race with a time of 1:20:20.7.
Carrie Jube came in third at 1:22:24.2.
