Nicholas Berrouard (2:26:42.0) cut seven minutes from his fourth-place finish in 2014, to win the 25th Oasis Rock ‘n’ Roll Montreal Marathon in Quebec, Canada over the weekend.
More than 3800 runners completed the course along the Le Fleuve Saint-Laurent.
He finished fifth in 2013.
Despite chopping just over two minutes from his second-place finish a year ago, 2013 winner David Savard-Gagnon (2:26:55.7) still earned runner-up honors.
Abdoul Aziz Kimba Djado (2:31:17.6) improved on his sixth-place finish a year ago by 11 minutes to take third.
For the women, it was Genevieve Asselin Demers (2:58:56.9) coming in less than 30 seconds ahead of last year’s winner Joanne Normand (2:59:15.2).
Normand finished fourth in 2013, eighth in 2012.
Rebecca Stuart rounded out this year’s top three with a time of 3:07:24.8.
Last year’s winner Daniel Kipoech (1:05:45.8) turned an almost identical time from a year ago, to best nearly 16,400 runners in the Oasis Rock ‘n’ Roll Montreal Half Marathon.
Kip Kangogo came in second with a time of 1:06:27.7.
Berhanu Degefa (1:07:15.5) was able to hold off Maxime Lapierre (1:07:36.0) for third.
Degefa finished second a year ago.
For the women, it was Manon Letourneau taking the top spot with a time of 1:19:42.2.
In a tight race for second, Lynda Gingras (1:22:58.6) beat Bianca Premont (1:23:08.8).
